Auf wiedersehen (Bye-bye) Swiss.....
VERDAMMT! The Swiss are out of WC!!!!! DARN!!!!! I 'm still having the trouble digesting the fact that the Swiss lost to Ukraine!!!! Ukraine!!! The country who have never in a million years participated in the WC!!!!! To add salt to injury, the Swiss lost in the penalties!!!! WTF?!?!?
To give credit to the Ukrainians, they played pretty well. The Swiss themselves were good too. Or else why wouldn't any team score a goal during the game? Or was it both teams weren't that good.....that's y neither team scored a goal......wut say u? Mourning for the Swiss, I can't believe the fact that they actually LOST in the penalty....but what can I say? They lost, the Ukrainians won. Period.
I'm kinda caught up in the world cup fever. At the beginning, I chose my matches. Now, I practically watch every match. Now I've something to blame for the cause of the extra pimples on my face. Watching these matches, I find something interesting that I would like to point out. I'm sure many ppl like me have noticed that footballers are used to falling down during the game. It's inevitable. Some might say that they are just acting. Some may be authentic. It's hard to be 100% sure.
What I find amusing is that when a football player falls, they fall. Then they plaster a "pained & hurt" on their faces. They look up wondering of others saw them fall. They look up again, hoping the referee would offer a free kick to them. When they realize that the referee decide to turn a blind eye to them, they stand up and continue RUNNING (mind u, there's no limping involved). Hmmm.... ok lah...to be fair to the footballers who strive hard, maybe they did swallow their pain and continue to defend their country's honour?
I wonder whether there's a secret segment involved in these footballers training schedule. The sacred art of falling and getting free kicks. *An hour long of practising the perfect angle of falling and putting on a pained look as if someone kicked them in their groin. * I wonder......
Footballers also tend to raise their hands to prove their innocence when the referees blow the whistle when a teammate falls to the ground. Raising your hands doesn't mean that u r innocent. Please. All of us have eyes. Even if our reflexes aren't that sensitive, with the help of today's technology of REPLAY, we always have the option of watching the EXACT scene AGAIN, and even CLEARER.
Yes, we saw you put up your hands to prove your innocence. Yes, U didn't push the opponent. But yes, u did trip the opponent with your legs. So y bother raising ur hands in the air?
Recalling the time I went to a live football match in Zurich with my hostsiblings, I had a great time immersing myself with the football atmosphere. The fans were split into 2 huge groups: FC Basel and GC Zurich. Fans were singing literally bad stuff bout their opponents. It was HILA RIOUS!!. However, I was more amused with the footballers' "falling and looking pained" act.
I guess all football matches are the same. It's all part of the game. Winners smilers ; losers weepers.
p/s : No offense to football fans. I'm just writing down what I see. It's just an opinion.
